A big welcome back to the 2018 Champion, Hall of Famer, and holder of the Second most All Time Wins, PatientZombie. This year, he’s got the Buccaneers set up for success and the Texans & Falcons re-learning their letters as they focus on assembling the building blocks of success.
Neglect in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My refusal to acknowledge your 2019 performance is unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my intern’s expense are a part of the job, but a joke about my spreadsheet is too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.
I would like to publicly apologize to you, @Funemployed. I was out of my mind and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the commissioner I want to be. There is no place for incompetence in the GoActuary world of thread-games.
I would also like to apologize to GoActuary, Glenn & Traci, all the posters, everyone reading around the world, and especially those who embrace the Oxford comma. I would like to apologize to the 1695814 Family and the @Jables Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us.
Returning for more fun, we welcome Grizz back to the fold. In his rookie year, he put up respectable numbers - 160-111-1 (59.0%). Did he spend the off-season conditioning and refining his craft? We’ll find out soon enough. He’s got the Ravens, Bills, Chiefs, & Vikings putting up 16 wins. The Texans & Seahawks cough up two each.
Oh dear…this guy again…maybe if we ignore him he’ll go away…I guess not. Joining us, yet again, resident loser, village idiot, and all around pain in the ass, A695814. Entering his 11th year he has, somehow, managed a record of 1529-1037-10 (59.5%)…mostly by relying on other people’s work like the da(t)/dt that he is. Previously, CGTechnologies has been his source of inspiration. Last year he started using something called “The Lines”. Even though the headline says they have info on “Every Game Of The 2022 – 2023 Season”, they don’t. Irregardless, I hope he loses, and goes back to elementary school to embiggen his vocabulary.
The Bills & Buccaneers go 15-2. On the flip side, the Texans, Jaguars, & Panthers go 2-15.
Now in his 13th year, 2013 Champion & Hall of Famer, Ezekial_Cumberland, rejoins us with the Buccaneers & Eagles piling up 14 wins each. The Texans fizzle under the Houston heat and don’t manage to win a single game.
I adjusted my algorithm, which over-weighted home-field advantage last year. And even though I’m an Eagles fan, I didn’t bias towards them, using an objective over/under number…but their schedule is really favorable this year!
Making it just in time for the Juneteenth deadline, we welcome back Hall of Famer, now in his 14th year, Kid_Rock (2024-1309-11 60.7%).
The Bills buffalo their way through their schedule with 15 buffalonian wins. The Lions and Panthers claw their way to the top of the NFL Draft with one win each.
Having entered before the appropriate deadline, Kid_Rock will receive the full complimentary complement of Five COFPs.
Kid_Rock’s Predicted Standings:
AFC East
Bills 15 2
Patriots 11 6
Dolphins 9 8
Jets 2 15
AFC North
Ravens 13 4
Bengals 11 6
Browns 6 11
Steelers 6 11
AFC South
Titans 10 7
Colts 9 8
Texans 4 13
Jaguars 2 15
AFC West
Chargers 12 5
Chiefs 12 5
Broncos 11 6
Raiders 11 6
Of course, Gronkowski announces his retirement after the first preseason COFP award deadline…does that affect your picks?
Repost them by 07/04/2022 11:59 PM ET and give up only two of your COFPs…[or] maintain your place in line and utilize your COFPs right away…[or] hold your line, stand your ground, keep your picks, place in line, and pre-season COFPs.
Now that you know where Baker Mayfield will play next year maybe that will incentivize you to make some picks…[or] maybe it will affect your current picks & you’d like a redo. Well, go ahead, give up your spot in line & previously-acquired COFPs. I’m sure your new picks will be muuuuch better. You can be sure that I’ll track that.
Still in time for the final award deadline, here’s some news out of Miami: https://community-new.goactuary.com/t/2022-nfl-football-thread/5204/211?u=1695814
…it probably doesn’t affect this year’s picks, but, hey, you never know how much the presence of the owner means to a team…heck, maybe they’ll play better if he can’t be around.
I hope each and every broadcast of Miami’s home games this years shows a video shot of the owner’s box.
