If I used google correctly, that will be a 9PM local kick tomorrow night. High in Doha tomorrow is 109. Air temp at kick will be 93 with a “real feel” of 103.
Just do like a real actuary does: make an estimate, refine it later as more information becomes available. You’ve got like 166 or so days to get it right, surely we can figure it out between now and then.
Mentioned it in the other thread but here is a better spot to discuss. I’ll take the US over Wales. I think there is a bias towards Wales with them being from UEFA and seeing Garreth Bale on the roster. Hes fine and all but they are like the oldest team in the torunament. They were lucky to beat Ukraine at home. Our players are playing with better club teams on average and our player valuations on transfer market crush Wales. Was certainly happy to see them beat Ukraine as a US fan trying to advance in this group.
A reminder that the World Cup should be starting this Friday if FIFA hadn’t originally thought hosting it in the desert in summer was a good idea if enough cash was involved
Have gotten two emails from Canada Soccer today begging me to go to the Curaçao match on Thursday night. First one offered me two for the price of one tickets: the second a 75% discount. I am so peaved with both Canada Soccer and the players that I wouldn’t go if they gave me a free ticket. They have totally destroyed the excitement and good feelings the fans had about this team and their recent success.
If Australia plays the kind of game it typically has, Peru will probably go through 2-0 or so because it plays into their hands. It’s one game, most of the world expects you to not win, most everyone expects you to be really conservative and mostly park the bus and hope for breakouts, … if you’re ever going to throw caution to the wind and crank up the pressure and play wide-open soccer, do it here. It’s a style Peru won’t play and isn’t expecting.
I hope the reports are true and that Vancouver is indeed chosen. In the past two weeks I twice had tickets refunded for the men’s games here in Vancouver so still have not seen the team in person.
I am puzzled though by why Toronto’s costs to be a host are so high?
