1/6 Select Committee

This Select Committee is just a distraction from the really important topic everyone seems to be forgetting about: Charlottesville.

Isn’t it about time for Fox to locate a caravan?

They had a caravan of 10k a few weeks ago crossing into Mexico from the south.

Which is ridiculous for at least a few reasons.

Reportedly these are the congresscritters that asked for pardons:

Per Esquire:

  • Mo Brooks
  • Matt Gaetz
  • Andy Biggs
  • Louie Gohmert
  • Scott Perry
  • Marjorie Taylor Greene

Gym Jordan didn’t specifically ask for one, but did inquire about the prospect of pardons

Per the Lincoln Project:
All of the above, plus Gosar

So much cross over with the 1/5 tour guide list. It’s almost like they understood what they did was wrong.

At some point - and no, it won’t be Mo Brooks (who’s now offering to testify under terms he wants to set) - someone in the MAGA caucus is going to sing like a canary to save themselves from a trip to prison.

Shit will really hit the fan. It will be spectacular. Rats on a sinking ship will look and say, “gosh, what a bunch of fucking cowards.” The only question is whether go full CMA and turn on Trump himself.

Ron Johnson got implicated this past week for trying to pass Pence some fake electors. He’s blaming it on an intern/aide, and says no big deal. He claims he got the fake electors from Mike Kelly, who’s calling Johnson a big fat liar.

Background of the text exchange:

“Johnson needs to hand something to VPOTUS [the Vice President] please advise,” Mr. Johnson’s chief of staff, Sean Riley, texted Mr. Pence’s aide, Chris Hodgson, at 12:37 p.m. on Jan. 6.

“What is it?” Mr. Hodgson replied.

“Alternate slate of electors from MI [Michigan] and WI [Wisconsin] because archivist didn’t receive them,” Mr. Riley sent.

Mr. Hodgson replied: “Do not give that to him.”

Narrator: Seems the archivist likely did receive them, but rejected them as fake.

Matt Goetz asked for a pardon for everything from the beginning of time to the end of his life :joy:

The gall of some of these people.

So who is the secret witness tomorrow?

Pence and meadows look like the top names. I’m not sure anyone else would matter.

Cassidy Hutchinson, aide to Mark Meadows.

Based on reporting, that name might matter a whole lot.

I haven’t been watching these hearings, but made a point to tune in today. This one is  worthy!

My interpretations so far.

Meadows knew that an attack on the Capitol was likely as he was getting advance reports. Giuliani asked her directly if she was excited about what was going to happen January 6th. Trump knew the crowd had firearms and body armor. The Secret Service had the metal detectors set up for the party on the ellipse where Trump was speaking. Those armed hung around on the lawn outside so their weapons would not get confiscated. Trump was furious that the area was not filled with his supporters. He told the SS to let all the armed people in as they weren’t after him.

Still dropping bombs…

Trump was planning to go to the Capitol for the electoral count on 1/6. Meadows was planning on this days in advance. White House Counsel Cippolone was strongly urging everyone not to do this. He was urging Hutchinson to keep pushing Meadows not to do this. Something to the effect of “We’ll get charged with all manner of crimes”

Trump was still trying to get there on 1/6 after the attack on the Capitol began.

Trump went berserk in the motorcade after leaving the ellipse that the Secret Service was not taking him to the Capitol for the electoral count. He grabbed the steering wheel and had to be physically restrained by the Secret Service

Let he who has ever tried to take the steering wheel away from their security detail cast the first stone.

Trump had a temper tantrum on 12/1 when told there was no evidence of widespread fraud that would affect the results of the election and hurled his dinner plate against the wall. When asked if this was the first time he had done something like this? No, Trump apparently hurled dishes or yanked the tablecloth off the table spilling the contents multiple times in the past when he got angry.
