Oh, yeah! My wife loves that designer!
East coast is the long skinny one. I can see how the west coast one might be better with one of those holders meant for buttering corn on the cob.
Yeah the normal (i.e. east coast) design usually results in the center running out before the ends, which is mildly inconvenient. Alas, canât change now.
that would not fit on the door of my fridge, where the butter goes
If youâre really wild you donât even put the actively used butter in the fridge, but my wife isnât supportive of that.
It doesnât come in bags up there?
We keep butter on the counter, Iâm not dead yet! Yes, just the stick we are currently consuming, the rest is in the fridge.
Thatâs racist!
Though apparently, at one point margarine did come in bags. My mother used to tell us that they would get margarine in a bag with a package of colouring. I guess youâd break the package of colouring open into the bag of margarine and knead it until it was a uniform colour. But that was before my time, margarine comes in a tub. or at least I think it does, we donât use it.
TIL, from 1895 until 1967, it was illegal to sell yellow margarine in Wisconsin. To this day though, strict rules remain for food services: restaurants, schools, hospitals, and prisons. Unless a customer specifically requests it, it cannot be served as butter substitute. Fines and potential jail time for violators. Those moo cows have strong lobbyists!
