Winning The Lottery Thought

I’ll take whatever I win and stay as anonymous as possible (increased security risk). Wife might not be able to keep silent, though.

There was an article on slate imagining that the smart thing to do with money like that would be to start a charitable foundation.

That would get the money tax free. You’d get the satisfaction of helping people.

And you could give yourself and your family members roles that paid reasonably high salaries that were still in line with the market.

I’ll tell you what I’d do, man. Two thousand chicks at the same time.

I don’t play the lottery either, except rarely. Once every year or two I’ll drop 50 bucks on a draw.

As an actuary once said to me (he only played when it was huge, and then only two bucks), his chances with two bucks were pretty much the same as if he spent 100 lol.
Funny guy and smart and personable. I remember when I met him, the day I started work there. He drew a great big stork carrying a baby on the department whiteboard and labelled it 'its a boy’s to welcome me.

i welcome the challenge of being suddenly crazy wealthy.

like many have said above, the intent for me would likely be to fund things we’d like to see done to help people.

I would absolutely get my cat an amazing indoor jungle gym.

I think in line with others, id quit my job, buy a house or two, hire whoever I can to maintain the properties I own and then live a life of relaxation and volunteering. Creating a business where profits went to charity woukd be awesome.

Who is defining who will be your friend?

And what impact would it have when someone finds out that they’re “not your friend”?

=snort!=

I wonder how a remake of Brewster’s Millions would look like today.

I know! I’ll win that lottery and green light such a movie.

I am defining it.

No impact to me. My security team will keep them away.

Current life kind of sucks. We both hate our jobs. Our kid hates her school. We live far away from friends and family, many of whom don’t like their situations. Easy to trade up. No need to become Jeff Bezos though, just dump 99.5% of it into a charity and float the rest among family and friends.

So . . . your “new friends,” right?

:stuck_out_tongue:

Then they’re cut off, of course.

“I don’t like your tone… better be nice to me before you’re removed from Paradise Island.”

Mandatory friends are best friends. They’ll never leave me because I control all forms of transport and I’m outside national borders, with a bunch of people with guns.
