Will you get the vaccine as soon as available to you?

I think it should be called the Trump strain

Ended up getting flu and Tdap today while at Kroger when I saw there wasn’t much of a line. Holy hell. I remember Tdap being painful for a few days after, but I don’t remember the vaccine itself hurting more than others. Ouch! Last time I got it was when I was pregnant, so I was definitely overdue (my son is now 11).

Definitely worth it, though…lots of my friends are pregnant or trying to get pregnant and pertussis is a real bitch of a disease for babies, everyone should do their part there.

Wife OTOH got the MRNA flu vaccine today. Her arm is really hurting her. In general she has much more pain from shots than I do. (OTOH, I used to have major issues with passing out or similar issues with needles. Fortunately I think I’m over that. :fingers crossed: At least, it’s been years since I had that problem.)

Her flu vaccine was Tuesday, so yesterday now. Really sore overnight, interfered a lot with her sleeping. Somewhat better by 8AM. She was planning to swim indoors for a mile (which she also did yesterday, right after the shot), then pottery if she felt she had enough energy. She must have, she’s now been at pottery for over 2 hours.

Meanwhile I had my COVID shot late this morning, about 6 hours ago. No pain or other adverse reaction yet.

My wife and had our flu/COVID shots yetsterday.

Today, I’m telling myself that it’s good that I have an excellent immune response.

Ah well, I had been wanting to bing-watch something. It should be better late this afternoon, assuming past patterns hold.

My wife and I got the double yesterday. She feels great. I feel like I got punched really hard in my arm. No other issues though.

We plan on going tomorrow for the double shot.

Wife is getting RSV next week. The pharmacist wouldn’t give 3 at once.

Discussed RSV with my GP and she said ok for me to skip it as, luckily, my only risk factor was my age.

And you’re working on getting younger, right?

Your risk factor is grandchild time with grandchildren in daycare.

Two of my younger granddaughters had RSV. I was exposed to them without consequences. Must have been my lifetime of exposure to childhood diseases.

Every day but progress is pretty slow.

Got my double shot today, flu shot was the motivation, but easy enough to get them both. Bonus kid pointed out the low success for us in recent years, where we seemed more COVID prone when we all got the shot.
