If tRumop were pardoning people willy-nilly, then sure.
But there is a logic behind it that a sane person can follow:
- He got paid
- He will pardon whoever the payor wants pardoned.
- No one can do a thing about it.

Ghislaine Maxwell, the close associate and convicted accomplice of late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, intends to ask President Donald Trump to commute her prison sentence, according to a letter from Rep. Jamie Raskin, of Maryland.
Raskin, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, wrote in a letter to Trump that Maxwell is working on filing a commutation application, citing an unnamed whistleblower.
Raskin wrote that Maxwell is having custom-prepared meals delivered directly to her cell, that the warden made special accommodations for her to meet with visitors, and that she was allowed to have special time to play with a puppy, among other exceptions from standard prisoner treatment.
“Any inmate or staff who questions or blows the whistle on the institution’s grotesque pampering of a serial sexual abuser and human trafficker at taxpayer expense is being punished and retaliated against by (the prison warden),” Raskin wrote.
“This top-flight luxury service has reached such a point of absurdity that one of the top officials at the prison has complained that he is “sick of having to be Maxwell’s b----,” he wrote.
Considering how hard our Glorious Leader has been resisting releasing the Epstein files, I don’t see clemency or a pardon occurring until after the midterms at the earliest.

One has to wonder whether the GOP can eternally keep up the “tough on crime” facade.
Harshly punishing certain people only to serve your goals isn’t the same as tough on crime.
Remember: there’s “crime” and there’s “persecution by the deep state”.
Our Glorious Leader is only issuing pardons to guard against the latter. /s
That reasoning seems like it would hold up, for those willing to ingest lies, with regards to those fine January 6th peaceful tourist patriots, who were suckered by the tag-team of Antifa and the Deep State FBI.
When it comes to inexplicable pardons of drug traffickers, child sex traffickers, and crypto scammers, it’s harder (albeit not impossible) to assert they were persecuted by the Deep State.
They have been claiming it for 40 years, why stop now?
