Speaking of, I have decided to start to rotate my streaming services. I figure I will just have 1 at a time and rotate /change them 3 or 4 times per year, rather than have several at once. I saw a lot of great stuff on Paramount this year, but I was kind of through everything I wanted to see. I switched to Apple TV now. But I don’t need to have simultaneous access to HBO Max, Apple, Hulu, Paramount, Prime, etc.
Crap is just too expensive now. I gotta save up my money to buy the GI Joe with the Kung Fu grip.
The Lazarus Project - Netfilx. Decent show in the time travel genre. Like most time travel based shows it has some problems but only 2 seasons, wraps up most of its plot arcs and while leaving open the possibility for more doesn’t leave you feeling you need a 3rd season to resolve the show. It was cancelled after 2.

I have been bingeing Dawson’s Creek. I used to sneak watching it as a kid, and it doesn’t really resonate with me now as an adult, but it’s very millennial coming of age nostalgic.
We’ve enjoyed all 3 seasons but do agree sometimes it feels a bit rushed for all they are trying to squeeze into a single season.
One pet peeve about season 3 through no way the US President and Vice President both spend that much time in England with the British Prime Mister in real life
I saw a preview of Pluribus and it looked quirky and interesting, so I watched the first two episodes (only 3 are out so far). I think the preview misled a little and the show so far is less quirky and, especially the first episode, more dark. They’ve not made it totally clear where the show is going, but I suspect I have a some idea.
Oh. The plot is episode 1: SETI or whoever discovers an extraterrestrial message that turns out to be a genetic sequence. The genetic sequence is created and it accidentally get out and infects all but 12 people on earth. Those infected are happy hive minds, who say their intention is to find out why the 12 weren’t affected and fix that. The main character is one of the 12, of course.
I watched the first three, curious to see where it goes, still mostly building plot and characters. But Vince G is usually solid and I love Rhea Seehorn.
Also, the Ken Burns doc on the Revolutionary War is out, so I’ll be watching that. Starting… now.
Yeah, I think Rhea Seehorn has been amazing in it. She’s pretty much got to go through every emotion, and often in the same shot. And they seem to like closeups, so you can watch the changes.
The cast was why I watched it. I find Matthew Rhys very attractive, and I like Brittany Snow a lot.
I wasn’t captivated by the story. I think maybe I wanted some sexual tension between the two main characters, but that was very much not there. It was a typical rich guy must get his way kind of story I guess? Good acting though.
The Diplomat very clearly illustrates the relationship of the US with its allies. The US can do things to its allies that they don’t like because the US knows the allies need the US. The allies as a result do not like the US but have to maintain the relationship no matter what the US does. Like an abusive marriage! The show does a great job of showing this reality in an engaging manner.
The American Revolution is awesome. We’re 3 episodes in and it’s making me feel really patriotic even though I’m not…American. (although our countries have a common history of distrusting the British government)
The cast of voices is brilliant. Also the pacing of the storytelling - how the hell are they going to win this thing?
