End of year bingeing was not good.
I didnāt bother to save my weight history from the ao before it got canned. I started making an effort to drop some weight in late 2018 when I hit 206. Was between 180-185 for most of 2020. Iād look best around 160, but I am not willing yet to make the concessions on diet and exercise to get there. I like to eat well and I know what it takes to get me to 160. I think 170ish is a good goal for now.
Highest adult weight was 235 and lowest was 160. Both were over 20 years ago. Iām 5ā11"
I had gotten out of the habit of the weekly weigh in since the ao died, so starting over.

Diet not great, exercise not great, no weight change

I wasnāt making much progress or doing much differently, so I stopped for a while. I havenāt stopped being pudgy though, and we have a home treadmill now, so I will rejoin next Wednesday.
Iām at 163.3 today, so I hope to be seeing both of us in the 150ās soon.
I suspect youāll beat me. Iāve been using the elliptical due to an injury but should try adding some running.
I increased by daily step count by about 6000 steps a day from 2023->2024. A 30 minute walk adds about 4000 steps and I looked for ways to just add steps throughout the day.
2000 steps = 1 mile = 100 calories of activity. This translates into about 30 lbs of fat over the course of a year, which is about what I lost (I have definitely found opportunities to replace some of the beer calories with other food throughout the year).
I am at a good weight, but I plan to keep walking, since I like to eat and itās a great way to keep things in balance.

Cool. Cool cool cool. Probably a touch artificially low, I had a bit of a late dinner resulting in no snacks before bed. But Iāve been eating healthy, and walked 30 minutes on the treadmill the past two days.
Targeting around 154-155 but lightly, just focused on eating fairly healthfully and exercising more.
Really, Iām exercising for the mental benefits. There were a couple of months I didnāt intentionally exercise and felt like lethargy was starting to creep into my brain. Trying to walk for 30 minutes then read for ~15-30 after work most days.
Walking 30 minutes a day is a game changer, but I feel like much of the benefit comes from being outside, at least for me.
