USA Men's Soccer Thread

And, clubs don’t have to release them for it.

The only Under-20 competition I regularly watch is the World Juniors competition that is held annually over the Christmas/New Years period.

You get to see the best young hockey players in the world. We don’t have much in the way of college sports in Canada so the World Juniors is as popular here as your March Madness is in the US.

Alright, first match a bit of a blowout: 9-0 v JAM.
Tonight, v CUB.
USYMNT U-20 is the three time defending champion. Not sure how that happens, unless MEX (13-time champs) can’t call them up.

Very nice broadcast (FS2). No non-stop chatter at all, except the Cuba coach, who is close to a mic.

Adananda, adananda!
No idea what that means.

I think it is on a loop or something.

Three minutes to check an offside that was clesrly not offside? Where are my fish cakes?

Definitely a loop. Might not even be from this match! WTF?

Oh, well.
I mean, look at where the Morocco team players play, and you should conclude a lot more quality than the USMNT U23.

Folks here had pretty low expectations on USMNT so at least they did not disappoint.

True, but I hope these lowered expectations are for all Men’s teams.

U20 play tonight vs PAN in CONCACAF Championship Semi-Finals. On, um, Fox Soccer? That still exist?

There are reports that Pellegrino Matarazzo has been offered the USMNT job.

Matarazzo denies the rumors.

Tim Ream retires…

I’d be a little surprised if they land him, but go for it

There is a rumor that Pochettino to the USMNT has been agreed to

Great. All losses will be caused by the Referees! And all of American Soccerdom will learn from it.

I’d rather have Thierry Henry.

More Score Buggery:
USA should be blue background, white font.

Least of their worries last night?

The players would be better off resting until November when real matches will be played.

lol @ NZ’s goal last night. Just, reeks of no actual defensive improvement.
