It’ll be important after he takes over Canada and Greenland and Panama and sets his sights on Europe next.
I do have to say that during my trip to Germany and the Netherlands a few weeks ago (my first), I was impressed by the amount of wind power generation I saw, including some impressive offshore wind installations in the North Sea (and since the flight path AMS-KEF doesn’t pass that far away from Dear Leader’s club in Aberdeen…).
They certainly are more attractive than smog, and I’d prefer them to electricity generation that relies on Russian natural gas.
People have written about his golf cheating for years.

I never had the privilege of going to [Epstein’s] island, and I did turn it down. In one of my very good moments, I turned it down. I didn’t want to go to his island.
Trump was definitely invited, and considered it an enviable thing to be invited, but apparently he didn’t want to go.
For years, I wouldn’t talk to Jeffrey Epstein. He did something that was inappropriate. He hired help and I said, ‘Don’t ever do that again.’ He stole people that worked for me. I said, ‘Don’t ever do that again.’ He did it again. And I threw him out of the place persona non grata. I threw him out and that was it. I’m glad I did, if you want to know the truth.
Donald Trump stopped associating with Jeffrey Epstein when he learned that Jeffrey Epstein was doing something unforgivable… interfering in Trump’s businesses. Of course, Trump can’t admit that he knew what Epstein was doing, so to distance himself he has to make up some half-baked reason that he already didn’t associate with Epstein due to poaching of low-level staff at Mar-a-Lago.

When asked on Monday if he would ever consider a pardon for Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year federal prison sentence for child sex trafficking and other crimes, Trump told reporters: “Well, I’m allowed to give her a pardon, but I — nobody’s approached me with it. Nobody’s asked me about it. It’s in the news about that, that aspect of it, but right now, it would be inappropriate to talk about it.”
Trump, who is in Scotland to meet with U.K. leaders, had previously said “a lot of people” have asked him about pardons — without mentioning Maxwell by name.
“We are appealing not only to the Supreme Court but to the President himself to recognize how profoundly unjust it is to scapegoat Ghislaine Maxwell for Epstein’s crimes,” [lawyer] David Oscar Markus said in a statement. His statement was in connection to Maxwell’s attempts to overturn her conviction.
Meh, that’s according to Trump as the source. Too often Trump lies about stuff and then he offers an alternative explanation. Who says the alternative is any more truthful??
Sometimes when I post here I take it as a given that we know Trump is a liar. At best, I consider his statements “questionable until otherwise verified”.
Eric tries so hard….
His love for Scotland??
All of Scotland basically throws up a giant middle finger every time he visits.
It’s been 13 years since a windmill farm was built next to his Scotland golf course and Trump is still tilted, yelling about how windmills kill the whales
Trump’s limited vocabulary hurts him here. He should never have said “privilege” nor “in one of my very good moments”. He should have just said he had no interest once he admitted he had been invited. Otherwise he looks willing to go. Maybe he is being truthful, for once.
Epstein has a certain reputation - were some of the workers taken from you, were some of them young women?
Trump: I don’t want to say… Everyone knows the people who were taken. The concept of people being taken from me is bad, and the answer is yes, they were. People were taken out of the spa - hired, by him. In other words, gone. Other people would complain that he was taking people from the spa.
Mr President, did one of those stolen persons include Virginia Guiffre?
Trump: I don’t know… I think she worked at the spa, and he stole her. By the way, she had no complaints about us.

Makes you wonder, was it aboveboard for Trump to have underage girls working in his spa?
I have this mental picture of Trump digging himself into a deep hole….
Why isn’t anyone asking him about what he did during his bad moments?
Because camping in the Everglades is unpleasant at this time of year.
(I wonder if Florida thought about the height of hurricane season being on the horizon.)
Feature not a bug.
More so, he split with a long time friend over hiring a 16 year old girl in the spa who was seemingly being offered a better opportunity. Why would he even be aware of her or care.
Something stinks.
If he had underage girls working in his luxury resort spa, and Epstein was regularly trafficking them to the point that Trump was aware of them being “stolen”, it seems there is very little chance Trump was not aware his employees were being trafficked.
Trump would have no reason to care if a minor busboy was poached to work at another country club.
There’s also the point that, while a disadvantaged minor might certainly be able to get a job at Mar-a-Lago, we know the profile of the people Epstein targeted - daughters of single mothers, low-income, low-resource. Not the type of person you typically find motivated to get a job in a luxury resort spa as a teen, but apparently Trump had enough people trafficked by Epstein that the clientele were complaining about it.
