For what it’s worth (for diagnosing the SEO or whatever): I usually use DuckDuckGo, and it finds this site just fine. I tried it on Google out of curiosity, and sure enough, this page wasn’t in the first page of results when I tried various search terms for it.
Seems like people just aren’t looking it up enough.
Everyone needs to do their part.
No, I don’t mean paying Google.
Just Google “GoActuary,” and click on it. Once a day should do it.
Downside is that other, perhaps more sinister, folks will find it.
EDIT: Yeah, it is not coming up. Other Anti-Social media sites do pop up, though.

FWIW, I was able to find this site pretty quickly with Googles with “goactuary” (no space).
It’s more that google is a shitty search engine now

I was about to use this as another chance to complain about AI and that it mentioned /r/actuary above goactuary but then I saw it described it as “complaints (lots of complaints)” and now I have to give credit where credit is due…

@Lucy thanks - you are correct. Something is fishy. We should be number one on any of those searches. Something’s off with our google-fo. I will diagnose shortly. Again, thanks for letting me know, its not something I would ever check.

This is likely the result of having greater transparency of who is a moderator here vs. there.
Did some work on this today using Claude.
It’s a mess. The entire site has been deindexed from Google. Not at all clear why that is, there seems to be no technical reason.
I’ve set up google search console, it’ll take a day or two to populate, hopefully that’ll give us some clues.

tangent to the AI thread, you have to know what you’re doing with AI or it can screw up big time. I’m diagnosing this and it keeps pushing me down a diagnosis path that I know is incorrect. But it does so with authority - if I didn’t know what I’m doing I’d be going down a rabbit hole. I tell it ‘given these symptoms, your diagnosis doesn’t make sense’. And then it agrees, and a few prompts later it brings it up again lol.
But its super awesome to do a quick grab of the site and check sitemaps, robots.txt files, technical issues, stuff that would have taken me forever its checking and eliminating in seconds.
It has pointed out correctly that given the subject matter this is barely an actuarial forum anymore. THere’s virtually no discussion of actuarial stuff anymore.
