I saw Quiros is 113 and figured “at that age, they have to be running out of time.” Of course, 8-10 years ago one could have made the same argument and they’d still be waiting.

If she makes it through 2025, the only explanation is that like Yoko Ono, she’s a succubus.

I have used her once or twice before, and thought about her again this year. Normally I start suspecting fraudulent age at that level, although I think she is less likely to have a major fraudulent age than some others. Since she reportedly got married in 1932 which I assume is probably verifiable, how young could she have possibly been then if her age is fraudulent?

A time or 2 I had Fauja Singh on my list and he is allegedly the same age. I’m a bit more suspicious of fraud with him, but he’s certainly old as dirt.

Looks like he was listed once with a “.” on the end, so I’m guessing he was picked 3 times?

Also, the total is 180, which implies 9 entries…maybe missing one person’s picks?

One of my higher picks is wrestler Black Bart. He’s in a bad way. I wouldn’t be surprised if he kicks before 1/1.

Question for my other pool: is he famous enough for his death to hit major news outlets? I’m thinking he might make tmz, people, or ESPN. Is he too risky?

I think the criteria revolved around “does the person have a Wikipedia page.” If yes, then for here there’s a celebrity. For him specifically, I’d expect some sports outlet like ESPN to put a blurb out.

If he kicks before 1/1, that kills [pun] my top-2 picks for 2025.

We’re twins then. I had Carter 1, Black Bart 2.

I don’t think having a wiki necessarily translates to whether it will be in one of the major news outlets required for my other pool, but it’s a reasonably decent indicator. Counterpoint: Dai Henwood has a wiki and is a top tragedy pick for me here, but not sure he would get a qualifying obit in either my other pool or DDP.
