Bob Barker. RIP. Hits for a bunch of people, including me.

I checked and I had him 4th. RIP.

I noticed that not everyone is marked “dead” on our lists. Not that it’s super important.

I hope not. Has there been some apocalypse that I missed?

I think the scoring is accurate (other than Bob Barker not being recorded).

But, as an example, on my list of picks Tony Bennett is not marked “dead”. I have the points for Tony Bennett but he still shows as if he’s alive. :woman_shrugging:

I have him 14th. Guess I thought he’d live forever at this point!

Bob Barker: DEAD!

Mr. Barker was a TV game show host for Truth or Consequences and, for 35 years, The Price is Right. He was an animal advocate, ending each episode of The Price is Right admonishing his audience to spay or neuter their pets. And he beat the living snot out of Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore He died yesterday at age 99, being as close to 100 without going over.

hotkarl moves closer to first place; traina, twig93 and Macroman also score.

TIL: Barker spent most of his youth on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in Mission, South Dakota. The U.S. Indian Census Rolls, 1885–1940, list Barker as an enrolled member of the Sioux tribe.

I considered this guy for my tragedy picks, but decided not to because he didn’t have a wiki. RIP

My wife borrowed my laptop. Will update when available.

Taken from a thread elsewhere…not quite enough to award points, but we can always hope…

When someone starts with “it’s really his double”, I lose interest in whatever else they have to say…

While “Dave” was a pretty good movie, it’s still an uninteresting real life theory.

Padme employed a double in one (or more?) of the Star Wars prequels for security reasons. I wonder if that happens much in real life. Probably not, but I’m not important enough to have a need for anything like that so what do I know?

Talking mostly to people who had never seen her before and wearing heavy makeup and costuming.

There have been a number of reports about Putin being rather extreme when it comes to matters of personal security and privacy, including his traveling with his own porta-potty to maintain security over his bodily waste (allegedly to avoid others from discerning information on his health). Combine that with some reasonably convincing evidence that some of his video appearances have been green-screened / edited…and his using a body double at times isn’t that implausible.

I do think it likely that his body double useage is less frequent than has been speculated in some forums.

Bob Knight: DEAD!

Mr. Knight was a legendary basketball coach whose outbursts and on-court success made him one of the sports’ most notable figures in college basketball history. He started coaching at Army, making it to four NCAA tournaments. He went on to Indiana University, whose team stopped UCLA’s streak of NCAA championships when IU won their first championship. He finished his career at Texas Tech, accumulating 902 wins as coach. He died November 1 at age 83.
