This is what I was going to say. Every professional exam that I know of changes the questions each sitting. I don’t think that’s fundamentally different from having different questions within a sitting.
Might the CAS mess up operationally, and grade some candidates inappropriately? Sure. But honestly, I think that has happened in some whole sittings. And as Meep mentions, there are ways to deal with this, and one of the goals of no longer releasing exam questions is to be able to apply some of these techniques.
