Have to go with the consensus for a Miami win today. Miami has peaked at the right time and has the home field advantage. Vancouver might have won if the game was here.

Match was pretty even yesterday.

Interesting that Miami had no Americans nor Canadians in its starting 11: basically a Latin America team. In contrast, Vancouver had a mix of American and Canadian nationals supplemented by players of many nationalities. Quite a contrast.

I guess MIA knows where the talent is.

The Messi effect…

Things got a bit “Messi” so to speak.

I was surprised that he was that much of an icon in India.

Looks like he got paid to show up, tip his cap to the crowd and mumble under his breath, “Bullshit. You can all kiss my ass. That’s right, kiss my big hairy ass”

Poached from Kieran Doyle, American Soccer Analyst: “In the most MLS trade of all time, Toronto FC traded their first round draft pick to Colorado for a video analyst/assistant coach.

Colorado then used that pick to select a player already under contract at their club for 2026.”

Left out is that the player got forced into the draft using an obscure rule, which further makes it the most MLS trade of all time:

Messi no-show settlement.

Sargent looking to retire early:

I thought it was only the female players who need to be close to home with their kids.

Former MLS manager Adrian Heath got a call about managing a Saudi club. After days of negotiations over the phone, it was arranged for him to fly to Morocco to meet the owner. It was all a ruse, as he was kidnapped at knife point and extorted. Fortunately he made it out, partly due to the kidnappers failing to turn off location services on his phone.

This happened in late 2024. He wasn’t planning to go public until the FBI called recently to say it happened again. He heard it happened 2 times before him as well.

Abolish Soccer!

“Aren’t you a little too young to be retiring?”
“Yes. Yes, I am.”

They yanked the artificial turf out of Mercedes Benz stadium in Atlanta this past weekend. Grass is being installed for the World Cup, and will be used by Atlanta United in the interim. Should be plenty of time for the field to be nicely established and them to work out any details needed to help the grass be at peak for WC.

SoFi is getting its grass in April.

Same here. It will be removed right after the WC.

Ridiculous expense for such a short usage period.

There is some form of promotion in the MLS:
