I’m not sad at all that the lowest seeded team knocked off the top team in the South Florida retirement league. MLS was doing just fine before they became the “look at us, we have Messi” league.
In fact, I’m happy that the Sounders will host MLS Cup if they can figure out how to beat the two teams from LA.
@ArthurItas Yes, I will buy you a beer if Seattle hosts Atlanta in the finals. Maybe Seattle will re-hire Gonzo as an assistant coach for the match.
Um, not sure who this Gressel guy is, but when your league opponents are happy when you tie, it’s not a good thing. When you draw twice instead of winning a match and losing a match, you are down one point in the standings. Yes, ties are bad, dumbass!
John Herdman resigns as Toronto FC coach. Hard to say which was the bigger factor: Toronto’s dismal performance this year or his alleged use of drones while coaching the National Team.
Vancouver Whitecaps are for sale and many locals fear they might be relocated. Having said that, I don’t know of any US cities currently without MLS teams that have a higher interest in soccer than Vancouver?
Oh shit. I hope not. I’ve seen them play at BC Place a few times. I was an away fan but BC Place is a good venue in a good location and the poutine wasn’t that bad for stadium fare in Western Canada.
Leagues Cup will be pared down a bit. Teams taking place in two other non-MLS-league matches during the season won’t have to play in this one.
So 18 MLS, 18 Liga MX.
Each team in the MLS will play three teams from Liga Mx and vice versa.
Best four teams of each league will move on. Interesting format.
No breaks, so these are probably midweek matches, three weeks’ worth of Phase 1. Then a max of three more weeks for two teams. Except it happens over five weeks.
