Actually, the way is to go to the half-hour between standard and DST year-round, and to adjust the time zone boundaries back to the east.
E.g. consider the original time zone boundaries in the US:

This would be chaos here, as it looks to split the city in half.
There’s a ski area that straddles mountain time and pacific time. If you have your phone clock on automatic it will show mountain time on one run and the next run it might show pacific time or vice versa. Gets confusing towards closing time.

Banish all time zones.
You’d think no time zones would be simpler, but it’s always going to be a challenge figuring out common business hours when India and North America are involved.
I’ve always wondered how it works in China.
