I have a friend who does this. They don’t put up the tree until right before Christmas. They are REALLY careful about how they place the candles. They have the fire extinguisher ready before they light anything. Then they light all the candles, and everyone enjoys it for a bit, and then they put out all the candles while everyone is still paying full attention to the tree.
It’s a production. But it’s quite beautiful. Theirs may be my favorite Christmas tree.

Recently dropped $8k on a week at Disney for 2. Yeah. Once of the nicer resorts.
It was fine, but I’d much rather go on a European trip (post-COVID) for that money. We’ve gone to Disney many times before, but this was by far the most expensive one.
My wife really wants to go on a Viking river cruise one of these years, so that’ll probably be $10-15k in a couple years.
My Dad & stepmom did one of those. It’s more expensive up front, but then you pay for less on the actual cruise compared to, say, Royal Caribbean. It’s still more in the end, but it’s a smaller ship and you’re in Europe and it’s a more pleasant experience.
At least, that’s what I hear from them.
yeah, the all-inclusive bit is part of the benefit, I think. Not worrying about being nickled and dimed, etc.

Meh, I just dropped 20k on shiba inu. Now it’s at 15k. Almost a (negative) free cruise!

Well I’m still young. I can handle risky investments.
The problem as I see it is that playing around with crypto is not investing. It’s speculation. It’s gambling.
