I’m thinking about doing the west side of the country (as most of my travels have been on the east side thus far)
Arrive Paris
Mont St. Michel (stay the night there)
Rent a car in Rennes and start driving
Cathedral in Le Mans
Tours? Poitiers? those are just on the way
Bordeaux
Toulouse
Drive over the Pyrennes to get to Bareclona
I’ve been to Barlecona before, revisit Park Guell, Sagrada Familia
Walled city of Carcasonne
Each of these cities will be a couple hours driving and one day to see the city, more or less. Just trying to see if anyone has any good ideas to fill this in. I may be taking two ladies from the bridge club that wish to travel. They are older than me but very fit and love to walk and travel. I can fit 3 people and luggage into a car, not sure I want any more than that…
First time i go it will be to Burgundy, 2026. Son is planning his wedding party in northern Italy, so we need to taste some Pinot from the region, compare with central CA Coast.
It sounds as if you’re not spending any time in Paris? If that is true, I will make no suggestions for Paris.
However, if I have misunderstood and you are staying in Paris rather than just transiting, I will make suggestions on things to see and avoid based on my latest visit there in August. And I won’t include tourist traps like the Eiffel Tower!
