Double it, add 30. That’s 760 days.
I’d expect it to be 1,000 cuz metric.
In my area, if you live close to a fire station they will sometimes send out a fire truck first for medical emergencies. Many (all?) of the firefighters are EMTs, so they’ll take vitals and try to stabilize the person while waiting for an ambulance. I never realized this may not be typical.
Ashton Kutcher seems to hang out with allegedly rapey guys somewhat often…
Sombody call Billy Joe Armstrong and tell him to get his a$$ outta bed.
There is an outbreak of the Marburg virus right now in Rwanda.
Small concern that is spreads due to air travel.
The Scorpions, being German, probably had zero personal experience as to what it’s like being rocked by a hurricane.
i am 1500 miles from home in my original hometown (or the big city next to where i grew up). who do i see on the street tonight? A woman i recognize from the gym in my current home town. i stopped her and introduced myself (i don’t bother folks at the gym). crazy
Seems like this is posted in the wrong thread.
Perhaps the “insignificant signals thread”?
We were at disney years ago, down in Florida. Watching the nightly parade. Buddy next to me is someone I recognize from the small ontario town that I live in.
I was also, years ago, way up north at someone’s wedding. Got chatting with the folks beside me, they were from the SE ontario town of 2K people that I grew up in, they knew my grandmother. That was pretty random.
There must be some sort of stats behind that randomness, but it’s seems non-intuitive to me. Maybe it happens occassionally and we’re just hyper-aware of seeing someone we know in an unexpected place.
To put in perspective how old 100 is, Jimmy Carter is the first US president to be born in a hospital
I ran into a former coworker on a booze cruise in Hawaii.
A close high school ran into a classmate when she was doing her ob-gyn rotation in medical school. The classmate had an STD so it was super awkward for Friend. Friend didn’t tell me which classmate and I’ve been wondering ever since but of course I would never want her to break doctor-patient confidentiality.
Solution is simple: **** all of Friend’s classmates until you get the same STD. Then you’ll know.
I’m straight. And in a monogamous relationship. And not interested in acquiring an STD, especially if it’s one that doesn’t have a cure. (Otherwise I assume this classmate wouldn’t still have it.) And given the 7 years of classes that I overlapped with that’s like 1,500 people.
So that won’t be happening for a multitude of reasons.
Give P Diddy a call, you can knock this out in October.
A month of hard things?
It seems the rain is behind us now, after bleak weather for the last week. Nothing but sun and cool temps in the forecast for the next ten days, which is great! I’m going to take a long walk over lunch today. Stayed home because I’m still salty about yesterdays announcement.
Yup. Early fall is the best temperature part of the year (along with mid-spring).
I think I have to cut down a bit on using Deliveroo.
A really great Greek place opened up a few months ago near me and I have been ordering their Gyros 2x/week for the last few months.
I get a bit lazy when I work very late.
