I’m flying out of gate D13 in Charlotte. My seat is 13D. I am a group 4 priority of 9 boarding. I’ve never experienced so many people saying that I am in their seat. People are looking at the gate # vs their seat # is my guess.
Is it part of that disgusting trend that’s apparently a thing of entitled people who don’t plan ahead trying to either snag an upgrade or snag a seat that brings their people closer together?
I had What’s So Funny About Peace Love And Understanding playing on repeat in the car for the last part of my drive this morning. Every time it came to the title line, the light changed from red to green.
I think a chunk of it is people who buy basic tickets knowing full well they can’t pick seats. So they planned ahead, poorly, and are now trying to basically make you pay for their seat change.
I assume he means people mistakenly thought the gate number was their seat number when glancing at their ticket.

Not in this case, but also, any 2+ group that is in the last 25% to select their seats are almost guaranteed to have nothing but center seats left. That doesn’t scream entitled.
Guilty of that once.
