Political Stuff That Doesn't Fit In Other Threads But Aren't Worth Starting A New Thread For

The 250th, or the 200th Anniversary of Adams’ and Jefferson’s deaths, besides the bailing of artists at a concert that they were uninformed about playing:

In fairness to the artists, it’s deeply stupid that there is a non-partisan America 250 organization that has been planning celebrations for nearly a decade, and a Trump created Freedom 250 group that will host the actual celebrations, and I can see it being confusing which is inviting someone. Or was confusing, I’m not sure America 250 is still doing anything.

They’re doing something. Google search insists on showing a lot of “freedom” 250 shit.
This one is a month away, no idea who’ll be playing, similar to the freedum – see, they’re dumb, don’t need the “b” cuz it’s silent, some people don’t know that about the “b” – 250.
The difference is that America 250 hasn’t announced yet, cuz not dumb. want to confirm before they start hawking tickets.

Anywho, not likely that I’ll go. Soccer on that day, and I usually celebrate with a smaller group of people that I know, not with thousands of complete strangers.

At their “shop” you can buy a “We The People” t-shirt, which is celebrating its, um… borrow the one… 239th anniversary sometime this year.

I was going to react with “it’s a work day for me anyway”…before I realized that the Fourth is on a Saturday.

Looks like I’ll be busy watching a couple of Round of 16 World Cup matches. (Still trying to decide whether to pay to get access to English language commentary, or to rely on an existing subscription to stream the matches in Spanish.)

Not sure what you need to know from commentariats. They provide me with little to nothing.

I tend to multitask. Commentary is occasionally useful for knowing when not to multitask.

I get that. But the American networks’ guys suck more or less.

True, but I don’t speak Spanish. While I can probably get what I need from crowd noise and commentator tone…

Also, a few years ago, I enjoyed watching the local USL team on the ESPN app…except that the ESPN app sucked royally. There’s a bundle where you can get the new ESPN service and Fox sports service together, and I’m tempted to use the World Cup and the bundle to see if the ESPN app sucks any less.

Or I might give Fubo a shot for the duration of the World Cup, and think about whether I want to bring back a subscription to one of the cable-replacement services. I miss the old days of just putting on a channel on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and let whatever EPL matches are on be fed to me…as opposed to having to make the extra clicks to access particular matches on Peacock…with the higher profile matches available only after a delay.

(Actually, thinking about it, I’ll probably watch a match or two on the Spanish language streams on Peacock…and if that doesn’t work for me, I can then sign up for something to get access to the English-language feeds.)

I forget where we were talking about Bolton:

Somehow, this justice department doesn’t seem interested in pursuing the case against someone else who retained classified information even when the gov’t told him to return it.
