This particular forum software seems really odd and difficult to adjust to, for some reason. I’m a member of another forum that recently migrated its entire contents from a BBCode forum to a software called XenForo. I like it. It’s a lot like BBCode, but it’s slicker, and features a number of Facebook-like features like “reaction” emojis and inline/embedded social media.
Anyway, given that this forum is still relatively new, if the GoActuary owners are not too far invested in this particular software, then XenForo would be a good one to try. 
No big deal either way, just thought I’d mention it.
