I suppose they could be, I’m not sure whether to trust manufacturers or Amazon reviews less, lol. They are listed as NIOSH approved on the CDC website.

the link to the seller of that mask from the CDC website is broken, so amazon is the only source. idk, seems questionable.
I saw a review of a good Canadian respirator. I wonder if i can find it…
Yeah, Amazon, eBay, and Etsy are flooded with fakes. It’s best to buy from a company with a reputation.
Here’s a ton of info from a guy who tests masks on YouTube
His videos often give buying suggestions. Maybe the Google docs do somewhere? If not, check out his videos.
yeah, one of the reviews says it’s made in china, but that brand is a US brand or something like that, thus fake.
why not go for a KF94 in Lucy’s other link? Are N95’s that much better?
yes, i’m sure that 1 or whatever makes or breaks the covid
I have some KN95’s that are comfortable and seem to offer virtually the same protection. It’s also nice that they stay off my mouth.
where did you get them? online or a local store?
Online. I took a risk an bought through Amazon, since someone I know recommended the seller. They seem legit, but I guess how would I really know?

This WaPo article is decent. It has advice on finding masks.
Finding reliable masks online can be tricky. Here are tips that can help.

FWIW, those are the KN95 masks my wife and I like. I found them identified on a list of reputable KN95’s.
I’ve just recently moved to using KF94’s, which seem to provide a better seal than the KN95’s, without being as cumbersome to put on/take off as N95s.
I’m seeing nothing on amazon.ca on KN 95 or KF 94 masks, lots of random masks, nothing clear that it is that level
I just took a look at Amazon.ca’s selection of masks. Pickings are slimmer and perhaps sketchier than amazon.com.
I’d be tempted to see if amazon.com-ordered masks can be shipped to Canada.
I also found this: LG Health Care Airwasher White KF94 Non-Medical Mask Canada | Ubuy – which is the white version of the KF94 mask that’s become my preferred choice. (I got a supply of black masks, but they seem to be out of stock at reputable online sellers in the US.) However, I don’t know anything about that particular online retailer.
Maybe you can get these in Canada?

They didn’t get NIOSH certification, but they are tested, and the results look good. They show their lab test results, and the guy whose spreadsheet I recommended above tested them, and thought they were a good choice for Canadians having trouble getting other masks.
Surprisingly, I’ve gotten KN95 masks at Best Buy.
Oh I have those.
I wonder if it also works as a hotspot
so, the KF 94’s I got are definitely not good for like trying to work in them if I need to move my head at all because they are too big. I have workers in my apartment putting in a closet door, so I’m wearing a mask, but had to opt for a surgical one cause I can’t work in the KF 94 as it’s too big.
they said 3 hours. really? 3 hours to put in a closet door?
this dude just took his mask down. getting annoyed. might need to escape to my office. can i trust these people not to steal stuff?
