Interesting puzzle today. I gave up after a few hours of rumination and then checked the solver… from what I can tell, only one solution in the entire list actually works, and I’ve never heard of the word NIFLE.

Kind of losing interest in this game, it’s lost its luster for me and today really reinforced that. Probably going to just stick to the Mini, Wordle, Connections, and Strands.

Yeah I got

CRACKDOWN NIFLE

but I totally made up that second word. I put it up just to put the letters together and was surprised it worked! :joy:

good, too busy to play, glad I looked

Your answer is even weirder than the NYT one. These are getting tough - I think I’ll just enjoy myself this weekend and check back next week.

NYT answer had INFERNAL, more reasonable but I missed it nonetheless.

Yes - the answers are getting more obscure. Which makes them more an exercise in persistence than vocabulary :joy:

Today I got

That’s what I got too - SCHMUTZ was used earlier this year; I remember because a Jewish friend and I joked about it. Strange that the Solver doesn’t have it, instead they have some obscure solution

I got PZ’s solution too
