Sometimes I just make up words bc seeing the letters I want to use up typed out is helpful. But I always check to see if the obscure combos are playable and sometimes I’m lucky!
Yesterday’s was a tough one all right. Had SPEWY as one of my words (was listed on the Solver), but NYT did not accept it. One of their answers was TWOPENCE, something that never occurred to me since I haven’t been to the UK in 10 years.
