Yes, took me just a few tries, the only non-obscure option. Got a different one yesterday, don’t remember what it was.
Took me all day but finally got yesterday’s NYT solution. There was just one other possibility using obscure words.

I got PREFIGURES SHOAL. NYT solution is OURSELF FLAGSHIP - had considered that first word though I’m not sure I’ve ever heard it in the singular form instead of “ourselves.” Several possible solutions today, solved it quickly.
