Wow that’s quite a difference. But yeah, $57K in 2016 was way low, assuming you had 2+ exams.
Yeah I had a phone screen in 2012 or 2013, they asked me salary expectations and I said something like “50s to 60s” and the HR person was like, “oh… well we typically start in the 40s to sometimes low 50s, would that work for you?” I said yes, but they never called me back.
