Japan is getting off to an unhappy start to 2024

First, a big earthquake.

Today, two airplanes collided at Tokyo’s main airport.

The passenger plant burst into flames, but i guess not immediately, because all the passengers and crew were able to escape. Five of the six on the coast guard plane are dead, and the other in critical condition. The coast guard plane was en route to help earthquake victims.

The 7.6-magnitude earthquake in Ishikawa killed at least 48 people and left scores more injured or missing, causing widespread damage and sparking a tsunami warning on Monday.

At first i assumed the passenger plane was on the ground when hit, but it may have been in the air. Amazing that all passenger plane occupants survived. Sorry for the coast guard crew and earthquake victims.

It’s amazing that all the passengers got off the plane safely.
