Is it done yet?

I, i could use this whole election thing to be done, hopefully around this time tomorrow we can stop talking about it for a while…

I fear that’s wishful thinking.

Even if there weren’t going to be any legal antics, it’s going to be a few days before Pennsylvania’s results are known.

I expect the first of the next wave of election lawsuits to be out no later than 10am Eastern.

I expect Harris’ text-messaging machinery to fire up soliciting contributions for legal expenses no later than 10:01am Eastern.

10am Tuesday, 10pm Tuesday, or 10am Wednesday?

I suppose there could be some associated with the start of voting, but expect far more as results come in.

Doesn’t Trump ask for far more legal expense contributions?

I was predicting 10am Eastern, Tuesday…and only slightly in jest.

I don’t know what the first suit will be for – something regarding poll-watching, or challenges to voters, or voters being denied access to polling places for overly-political garb, or… – but litigation is coming. (I’d like to be proven wrong, but I am not optimistic.)

But tomorrow isn’t the end of the nonsense. I fear it’s just the start of a new chapter.

I mentioned that I’ve been getting a flood of text messages, because my phone number has apparently been associated with being a Pennsylvania voter. While I’ve been getting messages from both sides, the actual pleas to support a campaign (financially or as a volunteer) have been coming from the Harris campaign.

Admittedly, it’s probable, judging by some of the messages I’ve been receiving, that my number was taken in a D-leaning context – moveon.org keeps addressing their messages to “Janice” – and thus my collection of messages received may not be an unbiased sampling of what Pennsylvanians have been blasted with.

That being said…I made the reference to Harris legal battle fundraising more as a counterpoint to the near-certainty of Team Trump deploying a wave of litigation in the coming days

I also live in PA. Yes, ridiculously many text messages from both sides. I know I’ve had some asking for financial support for Trump. More from Harris seeking financial support? Maybe; I pay little attention to most of them.

I’ve gotten some recent emails from MoveOn asking for just $9 to support a last minute ad they expect will be very effective. I was inclined to give even a little more than that, since the election is so consequential and apparently close. Deferred to wife, who (while equally anti-Trump) argued that any donations now will not affect their spending before the campaign, and will undoubtedly lead to far more frequent future requests. (True, but I think I could manage to ignore many more, just as I ignored many so far.) She also said “If they’re only asking for $9, why even consider giving more?” I didn’t agree with that thought, but as I said I did not contribute, based on her other comments.

I get nothing, though I’m in CA. Someone wants to sell my house, calls incessantly.

i finished reminding myself of the prior math and the impact of possible flips. and then doomscrolled for an hour or two. tomorrow will be long.

Too late. There have been 170 election and voting-related lawsuits filed by the RNC or Republican groups. 58 by the DNC and related groups.

I saw a list of the top 5 states by count of outstanding election-related lawsuits. I was surprised my state wasn’t top 5 because last I knew we had like 10-12 in process. All of the top 5 states had at least 10 active lawsuits.

Operative phrase was “next wave”. Pre-election suits aren’t anything new (although not in this number). I’m more concerned about seeing what Team Trump has learned about “stop the steal” litigation madness.

Well, if it happened, I don’t think it made news.

NYT did report protests outside the location where Philadelphia has begun counting absentee ballots.

I reminded myself that who is in the WH has zero impact on my life. And went to bed.

I’m also concerned that their opposition has NOT learned anything, and simply use the “Come On!” defense.

I have voted now. I am relieved.

I was at the voting location and we were all searching each other with those looks that say “Are you going to be the one that causes problems here?”. I could see the relief people had as they left the voting location.

Now let’s see the results.

Who is in the white house is a great deal of impact on a significant number of things, one in particular is the war in Ukraine. Trump wants to leave Ukraine to fall, and this would have serious, global implications on all of us. That’s just one example.

Uh-huh…

Whatever happened to, “Well, if you have nothing to hide, why are you not letting us in?” bullshit that privileged people say all the time?

My house stuff is cards in the mail for people who want to buy my house.

The calls are for medicare supplement insurance. Somehow, probably my fault, I got on the list for medicare which I don’t qualify for yet, I’m old but not that old.
