I don’t know about the validity of the blue line, but the grey line in those graphs is inconsistent. Milk shows a roughly 12% wage gain over first two years, while others show none.
I think they are just taking the price divided by wage growth % increase since 2020.
Yes, but that should result in similar patterns across all items, which is not the case in these graphs. Why is there divergence in some and not others?

I assume due to the shutdown they were unable to do the October CPI report. November report is due Dec 18.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure I read that they had canceled the October CPI. So it will be interesting to see how they talk about the change for the November one.
