Iranian protests/revolution

They see how much trouble it is for one lady to get a measly $5mil after multiple court orders and figure they won’t see a penny of that $300B

Wait…

The US made the Strait of Hormuz unsafe due to a foolish war they started. Now they’re going to charge protection money to use it.

Trump likes shakedowns: the Gordie Howe Bridge and The Strait of Hormuz are just his latest.

They have larger problems now.

Its going to take many years to replenish the munitions stocks.

They used all that weaponry for zero strategic gain. Quite the opposite in fact given the collateral damage to US soft power.

I think the world has a problem where Trump is placing a 20% tax on the energy supplies for much of the world.

None of that will ever happen.

The US doesnt have the manpower or fleet for such a thing without long-term allied help.

And the EU & Japan has made if clear no help will come unless the ME situation is stabilised.

So Trump can say what he likes but the world will move on around him.

well that plus if you’re deciding who to pay fees to so you don’t get blown up, it’s not the US you send your money to.

Won’t Iran just respond by asking for a 40% fee, like in Trump’s trade wars?

They better not dare, or we’ll place a 100% fee!

that’ll end the war i’m sure.

That’s kind of weird because reportedly Bab el-Mandeb has never really return to normal even though there’s not been Houthi activity there for the past couple years. How do you choke off something that’s already largely choked off?

Looks like there’s traffic moving through there now.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s depressed from what it would be if the Houthi weren’t occasionally taking pot-shots.
