IFYP?

Was it even a suit?

I saw gas at $4.99 last night in the Chicago suburbs, which is the highest I’ve seen in this area since 2022. Will be interesting to see how the gas prices impact driving patterns this summer.

We are approaching the tipping point.

> US petrol prices at the pump have jumped 42 per cent since the days leading up to the war in late February, according to JPMorgan. The next highest increases in G7 countries were recorded in Canada and the UK, with prices up 24 per cent and 19 per cent respectively. In Italy prices have risen 4.6 per cent.

I paid $5.999/gal for premium last night.

I’m seeing over $6 for regular at most of the stations. Though I think I paid just just under $6 at Costco earlier this week.

So, it’s over, we didn’t win, the straight is closed, we spent 200B, and back the the Epstein files?

Until he says “SIKE!” and resumes executing his lack of plan. (I caught a headline that mentioned something about resetting some 60-day war-related legal clock or something.)

Be careful, it’s treasonous in Trump’s mind to say that we aren’t winning in Iran.

Treasonous views about “treasonous” opinions on treasonous wars imo.

War Powers Act. Legally, Congress tolerates many forms of military action at Executive whim so long as it’s wrapped up within 60 days, unless Congress grants an authorization.

We hit 60 days on Friday, Congress hasn’t passed an authorization, and I guess even the current administration can’t claim that a ceasefire “pauses” the clock with a straight face.

So, in the absence of Congressional authorization, the Bibi and the Glorious Geezer’s Special Military Operation is over (and somehow the blockade doesn’t count (?!)).

Of course, there’s always the risk that we might have Iran War 2: Electric Boogaloo, with claims that it falls under a separate 60-day clock.

Guess this first round will be called the First Iran Totally-Not-War. Then when round 2 starts pretty soon, that will be called the Second Iran Totally-Not-War, etc.

Remember that at the same time we’ve been at war with Iran since 1980 or so, which is why this latest round of bombing started with no warning or justification given to congress or to the public.

The only real upside so far…

IFYP ala Vietnam

The first Iranian squabble?
