Insurance at Piney Woods (1896)

Worm fences are neat, you don’t need post holes. Good for rocky soil, especially back when they didn’t have modern equipment to dig holes. And the back and forth shape makes it pretty stable. Brick walls like the picture below are snaked to use fewer bricks than you’d need to make a straight wall. Because a straight wall would need to be two bricks thick.

Anywho, back to the old insurance discussion.

Where is the “Property Line”? Did the two (or more) parties agree to serpentine the Property Line as well?

You only pay for what’s on your side of the line, neighbor pays for the other half. Win win, imo.

Seriously, I’ve no idea how that works in practice.

I had a 25yo ask me how old I was this weekend. I told them. They claimed surprise, didn’t think I was that old.
Hard to say if they were being kind, or if I actually look younger than I am. Not that I care an iota if I look young, old, or my age.
