I'm in a rut

Yeah, that isn’t going to do it for me. I tell them I am looking for a change and work satisfaction which is true, but having the offers in hand I’m not interested in making 10K-20K less just to do so.

Did they increase Y to 1.08Y or did the total increase from 1.04Y to 1.08Y?

They increased the offer to 1.08Y to 1.21X but it’s still just 12% short. It’s worse than that though, I understated the new company benefit contribution by a couple points, the 401k matching doesn’t match until after year 1, my friend tells me the profit sharing takes five years to vest. The higher tax bracket easily costs a couple percent too. It would have been an interesting experience to be a consultant but I don’t think I’ll ever apply for another actuarial job again. Coast … enjoy 28 days of vacation … annual week-long company trip to Orlando … make it to my 10-yr anniversary (I’ve never worked more than 5 years anywhere)
