I find it pretty sad that we’re focused on whether or not an exact slogan was used by Nazis and ignoring the slogan itself and the blatant threat of killing ALL protesters. Unless you (or more importantly, the government) have some other benign explanation for it?

It was apparently during a speech about deporting a “gang” of immigrants after one “member” of the “gang” shot an officer during a robbery. So I would read it as about randomly deporting people.
Fwiw I do think noem is an absolute monster, and will double down when the killing starts.
Half the country ignored Elon Musk’s inauguration performance, so I wouldn’t expect a slogan to move the needle, whether a perfect match or not.

Create an “us" vs “them” divide. By design. Would not surprise me if they are being advised to do this by pro-Israel sources in the WH (they have quite a lot of them now).

A New York Post article published Jan. 9, entitled “Renee Nicole Good’s 6-year-old son attends ‘social justice’ school that teaches about George Floyd, warned staffers to report ICE,” spurred a right-wing backlash. The article detailed the school’s focus on social justice, its stance against racism, sexism, classism and homophobia, its fondness for field trips, and its discussions of current events with students.
In the wake of the threats the school received, it shut down its Facebook page and most of its web presence. “At this time we would like to ask the community and members of the media to understand this is a very difficult and painful time for our school community and for Renee’s family,” school leaders said. “We would kindly ask everyone to respect our privacy and allow us the necessary time to grieve. We appreciate the community’s compassion, support, and understanding as we mourn together.”
The school also said it had started a food shelf to support families and community members in need. It invited members of the public to contact the school if they know anyone in need of food at info@southsidefamilyschool.org.
“I’m calling for all federal funds to Minnesota’s Southside Family Charter School to be REVOKED,” Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga., wrote on Facebook. “This institution radicalizes students and pushes a left-wing agenda that demonizes ICE agents. The federal government should not subsidize anti-American education.”

The immigrant’s family was told by the El Paso County Medical Examiner’s Office on Wednesday that a preliminary autopsy report said the death was a homicide resulting from asphyxia from chest and neck compression, according to a recording of the call reviewed by the AP.
The federal government has provided a differing account surrounding the Jan. 3 death of Geraldo Lunas Campos, saying the detainee was attempting suicide and staff tried to save him.
Flores said that account omitted key details — Lunas Campos was already handcuffed when at least five guards pinned him to the floor, and at least one squeezed his arm around the detainee’s neck. Within about five minutes, Flores said, Lunas Campos was no longer moving. “After he stopped breathing, they removed the handcuffs,” Flores said.
Ah, . More new definitions. Getting killed in any type of real or perceived opposition to the government, or just because, is now referred to as suicide.

A local county with a large number of immigrants

That is like my city in MN.
Friend works at the public PreK which is almost all english language learners. Typical day was 17 students in AM and PM classes. Since ICE came to the city it is 5-9 per session.
Many local schools are offering online options for those who want it. Another friend works at a charter school with many children of immigrants (mostly asian). He said he saw 20 of the 24 classroom laptops were checked out. Another local charter that is 99% latino switched to fully online bc attendance is under 40%.
ICE is cruising around schools and bus areas. So the parents and kids dont feel safe bc the interactions w ice are all good squad awful.
I am driving 3 kids to and from school starting next week.
But i have to prepare for what happens if ice stops me.
Two people i know were boxed in last week. Unmarked vehicles without lights surround a vehicle preventing it from moving. Like, wtaf is a normal resction to that if not flooring through one of the vehicles?
Its a terror group.

On being boxed in while in your car. Roll up all the windows, lock all the doors. Immediately record everything you can, types, identifiers and location of their vehicles. At the point you see someone armed get out of one of the vehicles immediately call 911. Clearly describe the scene saying you feel threatened and the individuals are armed. Tell the dispatcher your name and the name of the people in your car. 911 calls are recorded and you can think of them as official records. Stay on the line with the dispatcher until a local jurisdiction LEO shows up and talks to you. Do not get out or roll down a window for anyone but a local LEO.
Lots of videos on youtube about why and how you don’t talk to cops, watch them.
In the ICE scenarios you need to play the local jurisdiction law enforcement and emergency response against the federal goon squad. If your local leos are playing along with ICE, I’m, sorry.
Also: If I am in my car and someone gets out of a vehicle and approaches me with a weapon drawn I will flee however possible. So slamming on the gas and plowing to get away it is.

I think more people need “the talk”.
First, keeping your window rolled up is a good way to get it smashed. That’s not necessarily a reason to roll it down, but on the other hand, it is a potential step in an escalation process best left avoided. As distasteful and unlawful as ICE’s headline activities have been, ICE and CBP do have limited authority to ascertain whether people are in the country lawfully, and resisting that authority does have potential legal consequences.
Second: If armed agents claiming to be ICE approach your car with weapons out, I have a strong suspicion that ICE is inclined to shoot first and not worry about the consequences.
The repugnance and unlawfulness of some of ICE’s activities anger me, and make me want to resist. However, resistance risks certain practical and potential legal consequences. People need to consider those consequences and determine what form of resistance fits best with their risk tolerance and conscience.

I don’t disagree with it, but that’s where the US is right now.
You can talk through a closed window. If they cannot hear roll it down an inch. if they are going to smash it they will smash it. If you are on the phone with 911 you inform them you are the phone with 911. You do what the 911 dispatcher says not what ICE says. You know the 911 is the government. You know the local LEO is the government. You do not know if ICE is ICE. Insist on the local LEO. Unless the 911 has been compromised the 911 dispatcher will not tell you to comply with any person they are not comfortable with is an authority. Use this. The 911 dispatcher’s job is at stake if they fuck this up. The dispatchers I know take there job very seriously.
Guns drawn upon exiting their vehicle mean they consider you a life or death threat. Someone in your vehicle is going to die or be snatched. They have already made that choice. What do they say to potential kidnap/rape victims, “Never go to the second location.”

Side note: We are at war. Red vs. Blue. ICE is the active troops of the authoritarian Red administration. They are using the rules of power to break the rules of law defended by the Blue. Since they are currently sitting atop the government they are using whatever means they can to get compliance to their authority. They have been and will use your belief in the rule of law against you. Trump has made a life out of this. I am in law enforcement. I have already spoken with my supervisors regarding my procedure if ICE is within my jurisdiction. Hold them or have them leave until they prove who they are. There is a chain of command above me, if I don’t get direction from them, ICE are armed thugs in my park. If ICE has no way to contact my superiors and prove who they are, they are just armed thugs in my park.

Yeah, that’s one interpretation. But I’d think of it more as “do what you have to but consider the potential consequences…and whether you can accept them.”

yes I agree, but it’s a good illustration of the problems in the US. everyone should be resisting but how can you resist when your two choices are resist or die. clearly, you are careful and don’t resist, nobody rationally should be a martyr.
but when nobody’s a martyr then collectively everyone is complying.
