All of a sudden MicroSoft has seen to put this ocean/island/nemo graphic in/adjacent to my “type here to search” bar:
I don’t want it. It’s distracting. When I hover over it, it brings up their stupid news suggestions. (I don’t give a shit about johnathan depp nor your stupid quiz about european parks.)
Make it go away.
I just make the whole bar go away. That solves the problem.
Ooh…un check marking “Show search highlights” got rid of it.

I just realized I can remove the Cortana button now, wow.
I never tried after the initial release when it was impossible (at least on my home version of W10).
Your thing looked so much worse though.
