Might need to spoiler that for language, but as far as I can tell it’s pretty close to spot on. Did the Dems offer to save McCarthy? I didn’t follow this too closely. ---

I think the issue goes back to Reagan: “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the _Government_ , and I’m _here to help_. " One place this can lead is to a kind of nihilism. If the government cannot help anybody, all it can really do is political performance. If Gaetz really thinks Congress cannot help anybody, why not use it to get ahead? Slowing down government is a bonus. ---
