actually, I have used the doesn’t smell like anything in two circumstances.
The veterinarian office where my wife worked
My father’s assisted living facility
smells expected, either offensive or excessive cleaning product. Neutral was to me a very positive sign
I think this is key for just about any of our senses.
We expect to have light (or sufficient light) to see things (clearly) and to have noise of some sort.

Make it “break into the Kremlin” and you have yourself a block buster!!
