In the Original Series, the threat of the Klingons was often due to their ships being “cloaked” . . . that is, not visible by sight or on their instruments.
There is a new veterinary clinic opening soon in a nearby city. The name is Hippo Veterinary Clinic.
Someone posted about it on a Facebook group and a response said: How many people have to how hippos in order to get a clinic built for them." Got a lot of laughs.
In researching this post, I found that it is part of the Hippo Group, a chain of veterinary hospitals and clinics across Arizona, Utah and Idaho. The statement takes on even more wonder now.
I can just imagine the pitch meeting where they named that company: “We propose The Hippo Group - because like the hippo, we aspire to be large, out of sight, and responsible for way more deaths than anyone expects! Also, baby hippos are cute.”
It should be noted that “hippo” is a Greek word for equine.
Here is their logo:

That’s just a funny-looking horse.
are they HIPPO compliant?
Private equity is tearing its way through vet clinics and has been for a while. A friend who is a vet is really frustrated, she worked for one briefly and they were in full revenue maximization mode. Pushing for tests she said were either not necessary or where a cheaper option would have been just fine.
