Coke had marketing dominance, and smaller competitors like RC, often competed on price. For some reason, my dad preferred Pepsi over Coke. So that’s what my family drank for sodas when I was a kid. My mom’s dad worked for the local Dr Pepper bottler, so she didn’t drink Coke back in the day either.
