Fall 2025 Exam 8

Flip side: per the e-mail, I’ll be able to get recognized at the 2026 CAS Annual Meeting in Hawaii.

Which … being recognized for making ACAS at a CAS meeting would actually be a first for me, because when I made ACAS my boss refused to pay for me to go to get recognized. After I got recognition deferred to the next meeting, he informed me I’m not approving you getting recognized at that meeting either. In fact, I don’t think you should even be ACAS at all, I’d prefer you didn’t put it in your work signature.

Fucking asshat.

I also just got one of these xD. I showed it to my new hire over lunch.

Woooowww! Really? Wt-actual-f? I also didn’t get my original recognition, but because I had travel conflicts.

Yeah, seriously. The entire episode was a massive shitshow. There were multiple remarks of I’m a VP, I can ______ that got used against me as needed. At least one of them, HR came back and said no, a VP cannot _______ and then that got used against me as well.

Part of what made handing in my resignation that much sweeter.

Are they going to notify us one week before?

that is what they said, it seems that the false alarm was for the pcpa

that is just, wow.

Good news, it’s not up to him if you’re an ACAS. That’s left to the CAS.

Results are out

I am … guessing we’re supposed to get an e-mail saying hey, grades are now out, you can go check without violating the Code of Candidate Conduct? Because … I [still] don’t have that e-mail.

 Maybe that’s because instead I got the e-mail saying I’m [again] now an Associate of the CAS[A], so I don’t have to worry about my exam grade now.

6:51pm - finally get the e-mail from the CAS that my grades are posted. :slightly_smiling_face: :upside_down_face:

No, I didn’t pass. No, I did not expect to. See you all in the next thread, where we’ll all get our shit together once and for all.

CAS released the post exam summaries and stats yesterday and the internet is in an uproar.

7 & 8 both had low pass grades and on Exam 8 there were 6 different questions that the CAS had to either accept multiple answers for or adjust the pass mark. 6! The only reason that this did not cause me to lose faith in the CAS is because I have none left. You spend 10 years building a test bank and there are still multiple faulty questions every sitting?!?!

Sigh… I am done shouting into the void knowing that nothing will ever change and I will go back to studying… again

Where are these summaries, etc.?

Yuck. Exam 7 hitting a low point (of sittings in this chart anyway) and the apparent recent gatekeeping of 5 are wild.

How do you count 6? I see 2 multiple choice questions, 1 question where a required formula wasn’t given, and 1 where PearsonVue wasn’t updating calculations correctly, which isn’t really their fault. The formula being left off is sloppy, though.

2 multiple choice questions

1 lognormal distribution

1 pearson Vue hiccup

1 schedule rating question

1 question about pros/cons of LDD vs retro plans

The schedule rating question and the LDD/retro question are the two multiple choice questions.
