Fall 2020 Exam 7 Sitting

I passed FM when I was 19, but was a freshman in college so definitely took the longer/less serious route then didn’t get back on track with ‘studying’ until I graduated at 23. Now 29 with 7,8,9 left. (Hopefully, just 8/9) after these results.

When I was 29 I didn’t know what an actuary was :grimacing:

No I don’t feel old

So is the 21st considered late January yet?

I’d say so, but late January isn’t early February.

According to resact26 on Actuarial Outpost…

“Just got off the phone with the CAS. They say it will be some time in February. Looks like January is off the table.”

“They were pretty firm on the February timeframe. The previous update said that if it was earlier they would say so. I guess that was the one difference.”

So, we’re thinking 2 more weeks now..?

Seems logical. I’m not the first party source here so I’m not really sure.

I still like Jan 29, I’m skeptical of the notion that if you call up the CAS they’re giving out inside information

Going by my highly scientific method of comparing ages out of 85 to days in January I’m gonna say about 3/4 of the way through the 23rd is when we can call it late January.

You can infer what you will from a phone call, but I agree with this logic (unless the person answering knows there is an announcement coming today or tomorrow). It would be weird for me to be able to call the CAS to ask them about this (which I’m sure they love) and get a more clear answer.

Was able to stay patient for a long while but man I want these results already

I didn’t post anything here on Sunday

Yeah I’m ready. This is pretty brutal.

Agreed. I get that we need to be empathetic to the fact that graders are working hard, the CAS doesn’t want to screw this up, and this is a totally different type of sitting.

At the same time, this wait is getting long (especially for those of us who sat mid-November), after the delay in having the exam at all. “Early February” is 5-6 weeks from the very last possible sitting, and there cannot have been that many papers to grade if they truly started in early December.

I have a feeling this spring sitting is going to have some historically low pass rates because people won’t have as much time to study if they wait for results.

Nah. Those 2011 numbers are hard to beat

Ah, I forgot about those
