The worst is when you’ve coaxed excel into getting through it’s work for the day and you’re like ok now we very gently save the file and excel goes through all the motions and then “File not saved”

No. Freezing Panes are the worst. At least let me freeze them where I want. I’ve seen freezing panes with one row NOT frozen, because everything in the top 15 rows is soooo important.

Like many other features in Excel, when it comes to freezing panes it’s important to remember the Parker Principle: with great power comes great responsibility. 
I’m more a “split rows/columns” guy than a “freeze panes” guy. But that is only when I’m doing actual work in Excel, and not just making things look pretty.
