Dumping Cable

I thought you said you could fast forward 15 seconds to avoid that?

Oh, don’t be like that.

Geez we have Amazon, crave, Netflix, Disney, plus IPTV with a bunch of channels. Still half the price of cable.

Yeah if it wasn’t for sports I’d be fine with the streaming services we have as there is plenty to watch. But to watch live sports, at least any major ones, you need live TV streaming service or cable.

Or a bar.

I found Sling pretty good for this, but it was something like 35/mo so I was quick to cancel when I wasnt using it as much anymore

So we finished moving and I have been trying for 5 days to get YouTube TV activated without success. I now have no cable or streaming service. They won’t accept direct payment, Google Wallet or Pay Pal. I will say at this stage Google sucks.

I did have 20 minutes of free trial which was good. Guide was good and picture quality was equal to Cox

Wait wait wait

Do you not have a credit card?

I entered 3 different ones. I have plenty of credit, carry no balances and have outstanding scores. I used 2 of my cards multiple times in last few days. I interacted w 6 different people that were working on it but couldn’t give me a time frame or explanation. A sent 4 screen shots and they ultimately sent me a form to fill out.

We finally used my wife’s account and got it to work. Happy to be up and running. Not impressed w Google.

OK, everyone, wife just subscribed to NetFlix.
I’m having a hard time finding anything I want to watch. For starters, I haven’t watched enough for its AI to determine for me the things I like, but what is on this thing?
Wife is watching Bridgerton, The Crown, D-Town Cheerleaders.
I do see ā€œSeinfeld,ā€ so might start watching those one last time. Especially if it is the uncut, un-sped-up, first-run-style version (minus commercials!).

Stranger Things, Black Mirror, Squid Game, Arcane and Wednesday are some of my favorites.

There are some good documentaries on there and Prime. I like the music ones but the historical ones or topic ones are decent.

I started watching Hitman recently. Thought it was series, but it’s a movie.

Squid Game was interesting. Very slow start but worth watching.

Ever heard of Fran Lebowitz? She has a documentary on Netflix called ā€œPretend It’s a Cityā€. There are 7 episodes. Funny.

There are also lot’s of stand-up comedy concerts, like Cris Rock, Trevor Noah, Hannah Gadsby, etc…

We don’t have Netflix but our daughter and son do. So when we visit them, we binge-watch shows.

Ali Wong and her classification of Asians… ā€œJungle Asiansā€ and " Fancy Asians". Funny. I guess she is half-half. Also her ex- husband.

I love Jim Gaffigan. Have not watched Jo Koy.

I watched a episode. It was eh, 5/10. Watched a second episode, it was identical to the first. BOOOORING.

Also Derry Girls, Travelers, Dark, Inventing Anna, Into The Night, Bodyguard, The Diplomat, Fisk and Mindhunter.
