Yes, “Print_Area” is a special named range in Excel and has been for quite some time. Out of 30 or so tabs, 14 of which are printing reports, only 5 had this issue.
Yes, the scope was fine, only the one tab.
Do the names in the bad 5 look any different than the names in the good sheets? I’m guessing no.
It has been many years since I printed a workbook even to a PDF. I will see if I can dig that file up to see what I did.
Curious to know if people here like to collapse/pin the ribbon along the top of the spreadsheet? I remember for quite a few years I used to keep it shown (I probably didn’t even know you could hide it) but I’ve kept it hidden for many years now. Every now and then I might pin it if I have to use the ribbon several times in quick succession (say for tracing dependents - although I could memorize Alt M D).
depends a lot on how much screen real estate I have available.
Does the print area look correct in the “Page Break Preview” view? If not, does clicking and dragging the print area there fix it?
I always have the ribbon pinned, and I usually have the formula bar several lines tall as well. I must not care about my screen space much ![]()
No. It simply ignores whatever the “Print_Area” is.
Suppose the area I want to print is from, say, Column A to Column J, and I have stuff in Column M.
I set the print area on the Layout menu tab to the range I want. It simply ignores that and wants to print Column M as well.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program?
