DONALD AND MELANIA TRUMP HAVE COVID-19!

Biden got it from trump, but Biden was weak and died. Trump superior immune system battled the virus and won.

At least as far as I can make out with my skills in reading blurry text without glasses :joy:

I came here expecting comments about Mark Meadows now saying that his own book is fake news and blaming the media. I thought it was hilarious. I’m guessing that won’t help his book sales.

I don’t know. I went over to the Fox site and searched on “Mark Meadows”. Nothing came up about Meadows saying that Trump tested positive before the debate. Maybe as far as the most likely book buyers are concerned, this whole thing never happened.

It’s an old cartoon that was posted on twitter as a response to the latest.

Documenting all the people Trump exposed to covid:

Seven days: Following Trump’s coronavirus trail

Also… He had a positive rapid test, and then a negative one. And didn’t do a follow-up PCR test. Those rapid tests have a lot of false negatives and almost no false positives. And they knew that back then. It was part of the initial info about the tests when they were first approved. And the established protocol, which he violated, was to follow up with a PCR test.

The very most charitable explanation is that he didn’t trust his doctor or any of the scientists who would have been advising him. And that he was afraid the PCR test would tell him something he didn’t want to know, so he refused it.

I’m inclined to think that the very most charitable case is that he’s a *sshole that doesn’t give a damn about anybody else, but maybe I’m biased.

Although, he could have screwed himself, too. As a fat old man, with access to the very best medical treatment, he should have gotten that regeneron antibody treatment immediately after he became symptomatic – that is, with a “slight cold” and a positive rapid test, they should have pumped that stuff into him. And that would probably have kept him out of the hospital.

So Meadows blows this up saying TFG had tested positive prior to the events in Lucy’s post. Then the crap hits the fan, people start spiraling, calling for attempted murder, etc. Then Meadows calls his book Fake News. This is pretty crazy stuff all around. Did Meadows lie? Was the first snippet to get the left up in arms and want to buy his book since the right was already going to buy it? Did he misread TFG’s response and wants back into the cult? Not sure what is up and what is down any more.

On brand for Trump to ignore any information inconvenient to him regardless of others.

probably this rather than a plan to infect joe biden with covid, but if he managed to infect joe biden, i’m sure he would have been thrilled, so not sure this is much better.

I think Meadows is just dumb. And in what I saw, he didn’t really call it fake news, he equivocated, emphasized the negative test, implied but didn’t explicitly describe additional negative tests… I really think he’s just too dumb to have realized the implications of what he wrote.

Hope you are correct.

I suspect the issue is that he absolutely refused to go public with news that he might be positive prior to the debate, no matter what. He was going to participate in the debate come hell or high water and then deal with his “cold”.

If the timing has been different he might have been more likely to take steps that would have been beneficial to his own health.

My post should in no way be interpreted as a justification for anything he did.

Explanation <> Justification

He’s a scumbag for not following appropriate protocols regarding the positive test.

Direct contrast to the Ohio governor’s positive rapid test (that really was a false positive, it turns out).

By far the most obvious explanation is damage-control after effing up really bad.

I like your looking into other angles, but I don’t think? this will net many book sales. Liberals are still going to reject it as dumb partisan garbage, and now some trumpkins might too. It’ll sell well either way, and it won’t sell super great either way, imo.

And isn’t worth destroying his own political future. As far as I can tell, he never left the cult of Trump, and there is still good money to be had in extreme hackery.

Outside of social media, are there serious claims of attempted murder?

Wanted to follow up on this line of thought…

Bolton and Comey made $2 Million on their books. So, if you’re a poor politician (Meadows is only a millionaire) then it could be worth it to insert some big juicy unfalsifiable lie to double the sales. But I don’t think that happened.
