Audie, my labradoodle, ate my run hat. The run hat was on my bed. He usually sleeps under my bed cause he cannot jump yet onto the bed. He got on the bed while I was gone today (I no longer crate him when I leave). Maybe te hat was close enough to the side that he grabbed it and chewed it to smitherines. I also had my Nashville, TN cowboy hat next to it, closer to the middle of the bed. He didnt’t get to that thank god. So I’ve decided that crating him again when I leave is in order. Ugh. FLICK!
It is true. I am the best dog.
Who’s a super duper good girl?? Are you the shmookie wookiest good girl?? Of course you are!!!
I boarded my dog for 4 days. He’s been pooping in the house ever since. Ugh! Taking him to the vet to rule out anything that may be stuck “up there”.
Also, dog boarding asked for a tip on the pmt slip. I didn’t tip, I think that is inappropriate.
Newest little babes. Only 3 weeks old
Meet the Math Geniuses
Sir Isaac Newton
Emmy (Noether)
Ada (Lovelace)
Also - humans fucking suck
There were 9 puppies. 3 weeks old. I took 3 and others took 2-3
Owners told the rescue that “mom won’t nurse” and “my husband says if I don’t get rid of them, he will.”
The pups are chunky and playful. And first poops were mamma’s milk poops. She was nursing just fine.
Y’all just didn’t want to take care of them and now they are at risk bc they have to switch to formula, get moved when it’s 10 degrees out … and poor mamma now has no idea where her babies went.
I don’t get why people don’t spay their dogs. Unless it’s an exclusively outside dog (and then why have a dog), it’s gross when they’re in heat and it increases their risk of some cancers.
??
That’s an even better reason.
But yes, people are soooo fucking irresponsible. And the bully breed owners are the worst. “My dog is sooo tough I can’t take away his manhood!!”
And then they let them run loose. Intact females too. They don’t put collars/chips on them either bc if the dog gets picked up by animal control (and assessed a fine/pick up fee) they just shrug and go “not mine!”
I have yet to rescue a dog that wasn’t a significant part pittie/staff
AND most of the time, you can have done very cheaply and in some places for free!
Idiots
It’s the same here with lots of pit mixes in shelters. My prior rescue dog was a pit.
I was thinking within a secured fence, but point taken.
Yeahhh no such thing as a secured fence when there is a female in heat nearby.
Funny: One of the other fosters wanted to follow my lead, but didn’t recognize any of the names I suggested - so she named hers: Sheldon Cooper and Leonard
Sorry for your loss. Wondering if it will be the last year for our 16yo mutt. No suffering yet observed, but starting to become incontinent. No bouts of immobility yet either.
BF’s dog is 15.5. We’re wondering how much longer she has.
A lot of her fur on her tail has fallen off. It’s startling to see a dog’s tail sans fur. You don’t think of dogs going bald, but 15.5 is old for a dog. Her fur is thinning other places but she has completely bald patches on her tail.
He’s had her since she was about 2 months old, so it’s going to be hard on him when she goes… whenever that happens.
She had cancer when she was 7 and the vet told him she had 6 months to live. That was 8.5 years ago.
No particular issues at the moment, though. She had to go on medication to help with leaking, and she’s on glucosamine because she’s got arthritis, but otherwise she’s doing great.
