Doggo thread

If there’s a thunderstorm at night, the dog will initially come find me. If it’s really scary, she’ll go into the kid’s room, sometimes jumping up on the bed. Not sure if she thinks she’s going to protect the kid or if the kid is going to be in a spot of peak safety.

More likely she just wants some reassuring-company.

last night our dog joined us in bed during the lightening and thunder. typically in summer, she usually sleeps somewhere cooler. (in winter she’s under covers against my back)

What am I then?!?!

A guy with a rolled up newspaper as an avatar. She gets the message.

She used to sleep on a dog bed in our room but now prefers to sleep on the couch. She doesn’t get on our bed (won’t stay on the bed even when coaxed) but has no problem getting on the kid’s bed or guest room bed.

The door isn’t always closed. I saw what goes on up there. Can’t unsee that. :dog:

or unsmell it!!!

Should have kept your nose clean

Despite all my shortcomings and failures, at least I can always make the dog happy.

It’s storming again, so the pooch is nervous. The thundershirt seems to help a bit.

There’s a sign near me that says something like:
No

Riding
Dogs

I was thinking that sounds awesome

Nighttime fetch with the dog. Too bad she doesn’t like the glow in the dark ball.

I think this says more about the dog than the cat, so posting it here.

This is the dog, about 70 lbs, lying in her favorite chair.

This is the cat, about 12 lbs, on his cat tree.

Explain to me why, when the cat was eating the dog food this morning, the dog just stood back and watched as if waiting for him to finish. She did eat when I chased off the cat, so I assume she was hungry.

Kitty’s got claws. (I assume.)

There is a clear pecking order in my house. Little calico>big dog>orange tabby.

The tabby goes for the dog’s food often. How the dog reacts depends on how hungry she is. Sometimes the dog pushes the tabby out of the way, sometimes the dog doesn’t care. The calico rarely goes for the dog food, but if she does the dog defers to the queen of the house.

Morning walk. I tried to make her heel but I am not a good master.

This summer I learned my dog has decent leash manners when it’s really hot. She has terrible leash manners when it’s cooler.
